Leona Marie (Casto) Johnson

I am Leona Marie (Casto) Johnson. I am married to Orville Johnson. I've lived most of my life in Parkersburg, West Virginia and Marietta, Ohio. After my husband died I moved to Marietta, Ohio. I lived there a lot of years. We didn't have any children but I had a lot of neighbor kids that would call me their aunt. When I went to the store I would make sure that I would get plenty of cookies, suckers and Popsicles. I didn't drive so I had to take a cab or buss. My sister Betty that lived in parkersburg kept in touch with me and would come and pick me up a lot of times. I would ride the bus down home to my Mom and Dad. The never had much room for anyone so I stayed with my sisters Barb and JoAnn. Barb could drive, so us girls would get together and go to yard sales, which we liked a lot. I've always liked going to our family reunions. I hardly ever saw my brothers, sisters or other relatives. So it was a wonderful time for me to get to see them. I love to go around and get to meet all of my relatives that I didn't know. We had a big family and loved one another. We had a lot of fun growing up and had our good times and hard times, but that just a fact of life.

We had a lot of brothers and a couple of sisters play different instruments. Jack played a harmonica and guitar. Donald mostly played guitar and sang. Roger play a juice harp (same as a harmonica). Patty played guitar and Linda strummed around on the guitar too. They would all get together and play and sing at our reunions. There was always such a big gathering. I guess it was our yearly homecoming, and a homecoming it was.
